The infamous G Hughes sugar free BBQ sauce is a hit with low carbers and keto followers alike. The numbers aren’t too bad, at 10 calories and 2g carb per serving but that’s about all it has going for it.
Okay. Let’s to this G Hughes Sugar Free BBQ Sauce Review
This was an interesting experience.
I was so hype to try this, I’ve seen it all over the internet and every time I found it in the stores, the shelf was empty. Did it build anticipation? Maybe. I FINALLY found it at my local Walmart with only 2 bottles left. I was gonna grab em both, but I decided to try it first.
My groceries weren’t even put away before I ripped the plastic off and popped the lid. The anticipation was killing me. I took a whiff and it smelled so good! I was thinking, okay, I can work with this. Next, I ran my finger along the top edge of the bottom and gave a little taste test. At first it wasn’t too bad, but then that after taste hit.
Hold. Up. I don’t know what I’m tasting but for God’s sake it is not natural.
The fake sugar after taste is so overwhelming that I considered licking my cats b-hole to remove the flavor from my mouth. I *hate* wasting food, so I poured a little on chicken and after putting the groceries away I heated a pan and got to cooking. As the pan got hotter, the sauce changed from thickish and brown to runny and gray, so runny in fact I had to dump the liquid out mid-cook. It smelled just as bad as it tasted and looked even worse.
I kind of feel bad because I gave it to my husband to eat for lunch, but in my defense he’ll eat anything. He hasn’t said he hated it either, so if you’re like my husband and are brave, by all means….
