I am so torn on these cookies. So. Torn. I mean they taste pretty good but I feel like the marketing is the best aspect of this brand in particular. I went ahead and bought the newest flavor anyway because I hadn’t tried it yet.
This is my review on the Lenny and Larry’s Complete Cookie, Coconut Chocolate Chip.
Quick Stats for one cookie: 420cal / 8g protein / 16g fat / 40g net carbohydrates
Upon the first impression, this protein cookie looks awesome, right?
Lenny and Larry’s Complete Cookies:
- Contain 16g of protein and 10g fiber per cookie
- Are non-gmo
- Contain no soy, dairy or eggs
- Which means they’re vegan!
- Are fresh baked + kosher
And Contain ZERO
- Trans fat
- High fructose corn syrup
- Artificial sweeteners
- Sugar alcohols
But upon further inspection, aka simply reading the nutrition label, you’ll find it’s not all what it chalked up to be.
This cookie is big, but it’s because it’s two servings. And eating the entire cookie in one sitting is 420 calories.
This flavor is okay. It’s not earth shattering and it’s not horrible either, but both my husband and I thought it smelled funny. The coconut flavor is mild as there’s not too many flakes. It is soft though, so it has that going for it.
My personal calorie goal is between 1600 and 1700 calories a day, and eating one of these cookies takes 1/4 of that. To me, the miniscule nutrient content to calorie count makes this not worth eating unless I’m looking for a cleaner cheat.
