About Amy


Hi! I’m Amy.

I’m 33 years old and am a born and bred Delawarean. I married my best friend last year, during what I believe, to be the most adorable ceremony ever. We have the sweetest beagle I have ever met, who reluctantly frequents my Instagram stories and a cat who really wants nothing to do with us.

On any given day, you can find me studying on the couch in the early morning hours, designing logos at my day job, or on the streets at night.


My life didn’t always look like this  – in fact, it was quite the opposite. I know the internet is riddled with people who have “transformed their lives” and I used to roll my eyes when I read their stories. This is my story and I hope instead of eye rolls, I can spark hope in someone who needs it.

I lived a life of under exercise, over indulgence and honestly, flat out laziness.

  • I smoked
  • I drank
  • I would eat an entire large Domino’s pizza in one sitting
  • I never drank water
  • Sleep wasn’t a priority
  • I certainly didn’t exercise

I didn’t appreciate or even recognize my abilities to change any of the above until I saw my first health documentary in March 2015:

Hungry for Change.

That alone opened my eyes to the greed and evil that is the food industry. Knowing that my health was being sacrificed to fatten some CEO’s pockets really burned me up.  After Hungry for Change, I watched Forks Over Knives, Plant Pure Nation and Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. I was convinced I had to eliminate sugar and processed foods, so I did just that.

I also incorporated exercise, including training for my first 5k.


That quickly turned into training for my first 10k.


Then, of course, my first half marathon – my biggest accomplishment to date.


In changing my dietary choices and choosing to see exercise as a way to celebrate what my body can do, I was able to accomplish my goals while laying the foundation of a truly healthy lifestyle. I have learned so much, through my own experiences alone, and my  relationship with food has never been better.

This is me.


The current me works full time at a print company and part time at the best gym in the world.

I make the best food choices I can on a daily basis and move as much as possible. I’m now an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Weight Loss Specialist, something I never in a million years would have ever thought I could or want to be. I’m also working on becoming a Holistic Nutritionist through AFPA and am taking online cooking courses to become certified in plant based cooking.

Upon completion of my courses, I’m looking forward to coaching others who want to lose weight or just eat healthier. I want to be the person I needed when I first started – to be there for those who need help but don’t know where to look for it.

I love this lifestyle, and I can’t wait to guide others in living it.
